Sessions and programmes
Three ways to build a steadier method, drawn from the same lawful, document-based approach.
Entry 01
Land and Property Records Session
A session on working with openly available land and property information in Kenya. Covers what a public search returns and what it does not, how transfers and charges are recorded, reading historical entries in sequence, and the limits of what any single record establishes about ownership today. Emphasis is placed on proper application routes and accurate description in published work.
- ■What's included: one 100-minute session
- ■A written guide to record types and holding offices
- ■The correct request procedure for each record type
Entry 02
Procurement and Tender Analysis
Guidance on reading published procurement material carefully. Covers following a tender from advertised notice through award publication to reported delivery, comparing stated specifications against later reports, recognising what published documents genuinely establish, and describing findings in measured language.
- ■What's included: two 75-minute sessions
- ■Uses notices relevant to your own beat
- ■A written analysis framework and record-keeping format
Entry 03
Documentary Investigation Programme
A structured programme for reporters building an inquiry principally from documents. Covers assembling a bundle in a defensible order, indexing so any assertion can be traced to its page, reconciling documents that disagree, seeking comment from those concerned at the right point, and preparing the material for editorial and legal review.
- ■What's included: four one-hour sessions across two months
- ■Review of your bundle at each stage
- ■An index format and a written method note
